Travel
People make a lot of effort when it comes to live music and festivals as there are a lot of passionate and dedicated fans out there. So once the ticket has been purchased, the travel needs to be considered. With one off gigs there isn’t much of an issue as the travel conditions around the areas will not be so largely affected as with festivals where thousands are travelling all at once to the same place.
Obviously the larger the music act, the larger the required arena is, prompting larger cities to host the event. This can then be a slight problem for ticket buyers if they are not familiar with these bigger cities. Their options are though quite simple. They drive themselves, and worry about parking themselves, they look towards the train services, or when buying the tickets, some companies provide bus and viewing tickets in a package deal.
Fans will travel vast distances to see their favourite band, and will pay large amounts of money on the whole event, including the travel. Whether it is a full tank of petrol, a train ticket or the inconvenience of travelling on a packed bus with other over excited fans making a lot of noise, this however may stimulate some people. This is more frequent with the festival travellers and is often seen as part of the experience. It is a chance to meet others who you can enjoy the weekend with, a chance to start the drinking without worrying about driving and a chance to start listening to loud music with all the anticipating fans. Albeit on if it is only being played on small, poor quality mobile phone speakers.
